About us

Outdoor Safety Training (OST) was founded in Salt Lake City, Utah, with the mission of making vital outdoor safety education accessible and affordable. We believe that everyone recreating in the outdoors deserves the knowledge to stay safe and respond effectively when things go wrong. Our concise, practical courses are designed by experienced professionals to provide maximum impact in minimal time, ensuring you gain confidence for your next adventure.

Our founder, Gray Levasseur, is an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) Technician. He works as a ski/mountain patroller at the Utah Olympic Park, where he is constantly training and getting real experience providing emergency care in the outdoors.

Everyone here at OST is a lover of the outdoors, and we all spend most, if not all of our free time exploring what the Utah mountains have to offer. We understand the risks associated with these activities, and we want to do our part to help others stay safe in the places that bring us so much joy.
