Residents: Drivers 16 and over may operate a snowmobile on trails and highways where legally permitted. They must hold a valid Ontario Driver's License, including a G1, G2, M1 or M2 or a Snow Vehicle Operator's License. Anyone who has lost their Ontario Driver's License for whatever reason cannot operate a snowmobile on trails or on highways where legally permitted.

Drivers 16 and Under:

If you are between the age of 12 and 15 and hold a Snow Vehicle Operator's License, you may operate a snowmobile on OFSC prescribed trails, however, it is illegal for a person under 16 to drive on or drive accross any road.

We at Outdoor Safety Training also offer a Snowmobile Operators Course. The Snowmobile Operators Course is 5-1/2 to 6 hours. The curriculum, which is based on field-tested techniques, provides a fun and orderly way to learn proper snowmobile operation. The rider learns about controls, reading terrain, turning and climbing hills. The prerequisite for this course is a snow vehicle operators license or an Ontario Driver's License including a G1, G2, M1 or M2.
