Do you own a GPS and would like to know more about it and even some of the hidden functions and capabilities. We have knowledge and experience that goes far beyond any owner's manual and tips and tricks you will not see on any video. Our teaching approach is based on the premise that learners learn best through the experiential approach of applying the knowledge, skills and attitudes. Here at Outdoor Safety Training we provide GPS training, knowledge and service unlike any other and is dedicated to enthusiastically spread the excitement of this new and developing technology. The goal of the business is to have every client and customer become our best advertising and just as importantly remember us with a smile by having FUN.

What will you learn

The most important aspect of all training and certification is the understanding of the relationship between the GPS unit, the map and the compass. The course participant will be able to identify and communicate a location on a map, in tandem with a GPS unit. This will include the use of the map datum source, the coordinate system (UTM and latitude/longitude) and a compass. Additional navigation information, such as direction and distance (scale), as related to a map or "real" feature, would complement the identification.

Make it a Family event

Geocaching is now becoming more and more popular as the commonness of GPS grows. Here at Outdoor Safety Training we can provide you with not only the GPS skills but an introduction to a lifetime of envionmentally-friendly activity and enjoyment for you and your FAMILY.

Outdoor Safety Training offers convenience and is available during the day, the evening or on weekends. The Green Check training for instance can be achieved in two or three evenings or in one 8-hour session
